    BT3 identification?

This may be redundant and a stupid question and probably already answered but I can't find the link.

How can you identify one of these saws?

they have a distinctive look - shape of the base (different bases for BT3000, BT3100, 21829) the rail system, the rip fence handle, the SMT and miter fence and the position/appearance of the elevation crank are all dead giveaways to me. Unique accessories sometimes.
BT3000, BT3100, Sears 22811, Sears 21829 each have distinctive color scheme and artwork on the front.

I can spot one at a pretty good distance and tell by even a small part of the saw.

You can also tell from the label, probably.

Don't forget the big lettering on the front that says BT3000 Precision Woodcutting System.

If your only tool is a hammer, you tend to treat all problems as if they were nails.
