No but I use a shark riving knife.

Yes. The blade guard/splitter/kickback pawl assembly is on my Ridgid 3660 for almost every cut except for non-through cuts, which are very rare (I cut dados and tenons with router).

Occasionally I'll raise the blade guard, while leaving the assembly on saw, if I'm working narrow stock where the guard would be in the way. This is also very rare.

I did not use the stock setup on my 21829 too much but I do use the sharkguard I've got now...

SharkGuard - not the original. Always on the table unless an impossible cut with it.

              Ditto

I did use the original on my 21829 until I got the Sharkguard. I actually consider the original a pretty good guard, but the shark is easier to remove & replace for non-through cuts.

Ditto. The Shark makes it easy to use, foolish not to.

I got into a couple of scary situations due to the blade cover. I just use a splitter and featherboards.

Never turn on the saw without one except for dado cuts. Shark Guard makes it easy to be safe.

                    Regards, Steve

Ditto. It stays on the saw unless I am cutting something too narrow to get the rip fence to where it needs to be (and it interfers with my pushstick) or if I am using the dado head.

No, I disassembled the guard and use only the riving knife. I remove the knife only when making non-through cuts.

Ditto on the Shark Guard. And ditto on the best investment!

When I finally get my Dark Side saw up and running, I'll invest in a Shark Guard for it, too.
