    Miter angles

My sliding miter is properly aligned and is set correctly to zero but when I go to 45 it is about 5 degrees off. Any idea why or what I'm doing wrong?

Where are you reading the miter angle? Be sure to read the angle at the back of the orange tab on the miter scale opposite the pivot pin.

that's probably it, you need to read off the back edge of the orange-reddish indicator tab. you also have to have the black plastic bottom pivot in a hole (to the right is the usual choice) on the SMT.
