21829 top issues

Well, i have had my Craftsman 21829 for a couple of years now and ran into a problem. The black powdercoat or whatever on the table top has started wearing off onto the wood when ripping. Has anyone else had this problem? How did you solve it?

My BTS-21 started doing that at about 6 months...

Johnson's Paste Wax, and a LOT of it...

Seriously, coat your table with several coats of paste wax, and that should protect your wood, as well as your table top...

I think the coating on these saws is simply paint over aluminum, not powder coating. I might be wrong though...

Yea, I've had the same issues. I get more marks from the bare aluminium than I do from the coating. As long as I keep it waxed marks are at a bare minumum. Waxing will also make things much easier to cut too.
