    Gloat time for me......again!!

As things were winding down at the end of work today I checked craigslist on my Blackberry. On there was a listing for "10 inch tablesaw in fair condition - $50" No photo, no model number, no brand, nothing. So just to see if I might get lucky I called the number (they did not have an email contact available). Lo and behold it is a BT3000. The fellow tells me it is rough shape, but works. It also came with "a few other things". I ask where he lives, two blocks from my house! I stop in on the way home and there it sat in his garage and his idea of rough shape is apparently dusty because I could not tell it had been used. The stock blade still had 90% of the lettering on it and just a slight amount of rust. It is also missing the fence for the SMT, no biggie.

His idea of "a few other things" was (all of this still in the boxes from Ryobi), a router mounting kit, miter slot accessory table, miter clamp, dust bag, unused set of casters, two ZCTP's, a dado throat plate, fence extension, dust bag....... I think it is every accessory except the wide table kit, vacuum clamp table and outfeed table.

All of this for $50! And the main table on the saw still has all the factory stickers and I cannot tell it has ever been used except for the little bit of lettering wore off the blade. Throw a new blade on it and blow it off with an air nozzle and it is almost showroom new.

And all I was wanting was a parts saw in case mine ever breaks down....... Tomorrow I go look at another one a guy told me to make an offer on. $20?

What a catch. I have seen a few here in PHX but some are priced way too high and the deals get snapped up in minutes...

Not going to make any overtures of bitterness here. Congratulations. Honestly wish I could come up with a deal like that... My best deal so far is so far away I am struggling to figure out how to get up to snatch it before it gets sold!

I told him I would give him a ring sometime and we could go out, and then threw away his number when I left. I didn't even offer to make breakfast. Ha!

I am pretty happy about the deal, though I may be missing some t-nuts. Those are cheap though compared to the rest of it. The part I am most happy about is the miter slot table, I have been wanting one of those since I picked up my saw.

I have been all over the deals here lately. Just the other day I picked up another BT3000 for my father, also in mint condition. It probably has 99% of the lettering still on the blade and I scored it for $100 and was happy about that one. Then I scored on the Craftsman router deal for my father and I both, got a ton of gift cards for my birthday to Rockler, Lowe's, Home Depot, Woodcraft, etc. It has been a pretty good month, so I am just waiting for this bright light to be the headlight of an oncoming train..... *cocks eyebrow*
