Any interest in parting out saws anymore

I was a member here a while back. Bought a BT3100 a while ago, with a free accessory kit, but life intervened and I had to sell it. I started parting it out and basically sold just the main body of the saw to someone who needed a motor.

I was considering parting the rest of the saw, but I don't see a lot of interest anymore. A local user offered me $100 for what I have. My gut says to part the rest of it out, but if no one is buying anymore, I might as well take the $100.

I'm looking for opinions. Here's what I have. Nothing has ever been used.

    Rails
Rail mounting hardware (great for jigs)
    Rip fence
    SMT
    Accessory table
    Blade
    Stand
    Miter table hold down clamp
    Router mounting kit
Standard, Dado and 2 unused ZCTPs
    Dust bag
    Casters

A few years ago, I'd never sell all of this for $100, but interest seems way down.

What do you guys think? Should I take the $100 or part it out through the site here?

    Thanks,
    Bob Crosley

(PS, I'm not keeping the saw parts because I don't have the main saw anymore. I'll use the proceeds to buy a used contractors saw)

    Bob,

Although resale activity has slowed way down, I have the impression that parts don't last long when they do come up for sale.

Having said that, I haven't been selling parts, so I don't know the fair market value.

Thanks for your input. I'm really torn on this one.

I forgot I also have the miter slot table as well.

I know I'm leaning toward parting it out but I'm not sure if it's going to be enough to be worth the hassle.

Anyone else? The potential buyer is going to be in my area tomorrow, so I need to figure out what I'm going to do.

      Thanks everyone for your ideas.

there have been a couple people recently looking for parts to complete saw that they bought on the cheap. I think the parts are still valuable, but since they've discountinued the Ryobi version we are seeing fewer new members (my gut says that some of the craftsman buyers don't find out that it's a ryobi clone and come here)

I don't think it's that the interest has wained, just that there hasn't been any saws offered for parts in a while. Sales of the stand, dust bag, and casters are questionable unless you find the right person. The rest of your list should go quick.

i think if you put it up for sale
you get $40-50 for the rails, $20-25 each for the SMT, the rip fence, the aux table and the router kit. sell all the rest for $25.
That's $175 or so but more work doing the individual transactions instead of one.

You should also say whether the blade is the made in China, or the made in Italy blade.

If you decide to part it out, I might be interested in the miter slot table

                      Loring -

                      Questions:
                      1. Are these expected eBay prices or BT3Central classifieds?
                      2. Also, what sort of price does a good motor (very little use, crystal clear writing on drive belt) go for?
                      3. And finally, is the BT3000 motor identical to the BT3100?

                      Thanks a lot!

FYI - I have two BT3000's, I only need one, and it seems that parting out is considerably more remunerative than selling it complete. Plus, if I part it out, I get to add an aux table to my remaining saw.

My father would buy the router mounting kit if you wanted to sell it. He would also probably buy a miter slot table. I have a friend who needs a complete fence for the SMT. Anyone who wants to sell these parts, feel free to PM me.

                            Accessory Table ?

I am trying to locate an extra accessory table for my bt3000. If you still have it, let me know. I have been looking on Ebay for a good used one and not having much luck.
                            Thanks,

I'm guessing those prices for a patient seller on BT3central classifieds based on what I've observed over the last year or so.
                              motor, maybe $50.
A late model BT3000 motor will work for the BT3100, they're the same. Early ones like before 1994-1995 I'm thinking there were some changes making them undesirable and won't mount. Definately I would not want a 13A motor from 1992-'93
