BT Belts (two part #'s at Sears)

The recent belt threads got me worrying. I haven't needed to replace the belts on my BT3000 yet. But if Sears is discontinuing the BT clone, the parts may not be available someday. Want to add a couple to my BT spare parts bin.

I checked www.Searspartsdirect.com and there are two belts at two different prices for two BT clones. Anyone know the difference? Which do I need for my BT3000?

    Sears saw #315 228110 "V-belt" (diagram #81) Part #662329-001 $9.20.

    Sears saw #315 218290 "V belt, 106h9band0" (diagram #38) Part #424010003 $19.77.

    Thanks,

    - Lonnie

As far as I know, they're the same belt... there has only been one belt for the BT3000/BT3100/sears 22811 and sears 21829 but they have two belts pointed to by the PL for the 22811 and the 21829 so buy the cheaper (by half) ones.

A few weeks ago I noticed the same thing you did re the belts. I ordered the cheaper belts and they ARE identical to originals.

Save some money, buy more stuff!

I stopped by the Sears repair center today. $18.40 two belts, plus tax and shipping = over $29. Didn't buy. I couldn't bring myself to pay 60% for tax and shipping.

I was hoping that there would be no shipping charge if picked up at the repair center. (???)
