    miter slot

A couple of years ago on the forum, there was a left miter slot plan. I made one this year, and it works well. I used the same idea and made one for the right side.

    The site is; https://www.davekahler.com/woodworki.../miterleft.php

The new Sears saw has a right table with a miter slide. If you buy the parts, and put it together yourself, it is about $70. If you order the asembly, it is over $100.

The 21829 sears saw based on the BT3x does have miter slots on the router/auxiliary table BUT the catch is that they are not aligned to and caonnot be easily aligned to the saw blade. As such they are intended to be used with the router in the router/auxiliary table, only.

The chief requirement for a saw-based miter slot is that it be very parallel to the blade.

If your only tool is a hammer, you tend to treat all problems as if they were nails.
