    Bought Another BT3X00

After selling my BT3100 a while back because of my back injury, I have regretted it many times.

I ran across a BT3000 in really good shape today, and picked it up for $100.

The only thing is that it didn't come with the wrenches for blade changes. Where can I pick a set of these up at?

Also, I am looking for the factory throat plate.

    Thanks,

    Rusty

I just picked up a set of wrenches last week at Reeds Tool Repair on Payne Ave. In St. Paul, MN. About $6 for the pair.

They seem to have all the wear parts. I just replaces all the plastic parts on the SMT and the rip fence. Only cost about $20! Everything moves like new.

Actually, you can get by with combination wrenches (open end on one end, closed end on the other end) of 3/4" for the arbor nut and 1/2" for the riving knife.

You can use them out of any set, you can probably buy a full set at HF for around $10 or individual wrenches for about $5 at Sears/HD/Lowes, or about a buck to 2 bucks at any pawn shop.

The only thing you are missing is the flat wrench to lock the arbor - I haven't a substitute yet because I have the original wrenches, but notching a piece of sheet metal comes to mind...

If your only tool is a hammer, you tend to treat all problems as if they were nails.

I think HF also carries a cheap set of skinny stamped wrenches for tight spots. You can probably find what you need there.

          I lucked up!

I used a standard wrench for the outer nut. For the inner wrench, I was looking through the shop and found that my nozzle wrench for my HVLP spray gun is the exact same size, and it is a flat wrench.
