I only saw one in the early 90's at Builder's Square (anyone remember them?).
I recall reading comments that some people liked them and some people thought the top was kind of flimsy.
You don't see many of them around but they can still be bought for a pretty penny from some of the distributors.
One issue was the vac - Ryobi recommende you use their vac (no longer sold) which had an external fan cooled motor. Which meant you can use it "dead-ended" for a long period of time without overheating the motor.
Dead-ended is what you get when you have an item blocking all the holes in the vacuum top. which is more likely than you thin because there's some gate valve on the bottom that allows you to block off large parts of the top so you don't lose suction when working with smaller items.

If your only tool is a hammer, you tend to treat all problems as if they were nails.

I remember Builders Square, all to well. It was one of three chains that locally went out of business. Now they and Montgomery Wards are back, only in an online fashion.
The closest thing to the Ryobi vac, that I am aware of, is the Fein Vac's, but they are $$$. The flimsy part is what stopped me from buying one online several months ago.

i guess the flimsy part is relative. It's probably 1/4" material and only partially supported within. it will hold a 4x8 or 2x4 sheet of ply or other board all day with the weight of them spread out over the top with or w/o the air float running.

But you can't use the large top for a workbench as inviting as it might look.

I think Sears may still sell them for the 21829.

              I have one

and have used it as a extension table. I do not use it for what its intended use. It never really worked well for me. However the extended table is great. JerryMak2

I thought the reference to "bid" gave a clue but if interested look for it
on that site otherwise known as "flea-bay" or ebay
                search "ryobi" and "table saw"

he also has the rail extensions and leg kit up separately
these might be useful on their own without the vacuum table

                    floation table

I got one from a saw I bought off ebay.

I took it all apart and kept all the hardware. The table had sagged a little due to being in a damp basement for a few years.

Not found by the 21829 or 22811 numbers, but still sold as a 22218. Sears dropped the two most usefull pieces for the 21829, within six months of it coming out. The miter extrusion and the adjustment gauge.
They do still carry the wide table leg kit however. I see it on sale often, and it is less then what they sell for on Ebay. (22219)

Can't remember the exact name, but I am sure you know it. The microadjuster? (4 hours of sleep last night, not fully functioning)

Oh, ok, the microadjuster. I just got one of those from a member here, after coveting them for a long time. Very cool feature.

Also there have been home-made microadjusters featured in this forum. Haven't seen any of those posted in a long time, though.
