I recently inherited a BT3000 and it is missing the key plate. This is the old style power switch that was recalled back in 96'. I have been unable to find a key plate online at any of the parts depots. Does anyone know a way to bypass, or where I can get the replacement switch that was used in the recall?

Ryobi was for many years still replacing the original switches (one with two buttons) for the reason that the lockout was not secure. All you had to do then was to all the 1-800- number of Ryobi's. They sent the BT3000 switch with the rocker and the cover. Now, I'm not sure what you'll get based on the recent experience someone reported. Won't do any harm to try.Loring in Katy, TX USA
