I could use a fence scale for BT3000

I could use a fence scale for a BT3000 fence. Ryobi apparently doesn't make them any more (checked Sears, m-and-d, and OrderTree). Part # is (was) 969153-001.

I know a lot of you don't use them and prefer to use the tape or whatever instrument you're using for measuring (that wasn't intended to sound dirty, BTW) to set the fence.

I kinda rely on my fence scale pretty heavily due to my bad back.

Anyone have a spare or wanna sell me the one they aren't using from their fence?

$10 or $15 w/ shipping or something like that?

Not sure if you've seen these at Woodcraft and if they'd work on the BT3 rail or not.

Oh, I meant the clear plastic part of the fence that has the red hairline cursor. My rail tape is fine.

      Thanks though.

I purchased one of these from M & D recently (within last two months) for the 3100. Don't know if would fit the 3000 or not, but it would be worth a look. Sorry, don't remember the stock number or price.

        Regards, SN

The 3100 version is different. But thanks for the tip.

I may have to resort to buying a new fence to get a $.50 part.

Shouldn't be that hard to make one from a small piece of plastic
HD/Lowes sells thin sheets of Acrylic, can be cut to shape. Can be bent and formed with some heat.
Scribe with a sharp knife and fill with paint/nail polish...

Yeah, I just figured I'd spend $15 and avoid the hassle.

Being in a hurry one day, I just took a small piece of red wire, about 22 g I think it was telco wire. and bent it around the screw that was still there and then pointed it at the scale. Very easy to zero it too.

Almost as easy as unzeroing it.

yup... I just use it to get about there and then use a tape for the actual measurement. but... it's also easy to point it at a line when you just want to move the fence a smidgen and you can track how far the fence moves with each knuckle knock
