    Old (pre 2002) BT3000 Forum?

LCHEIN says that he used to subscribe to an "old" BT3000 forum
that preceded this current bt3central.com forum (whose archives
indicate it was started in 2002).

Where was that old forum? USENET? A privately-run listserv?
Was its traffic ever archived? Where?

I've got a question most likely to have been discussed by BT3000
owners from around 1994 through 1998 or so.

Maybe the Ryobi forum. There is a forum on the Ryobi tools website.

Also, don't be shy about asking the question here. There's plenty of us with saws that date from that time...I'm sure you'll get a response.

        Enh, just ask your question.

I run a 96 vintage machine. Not much has changed since then...just the shim holders and switches

My guess is you've got a switch problem...I put a big ole paddle switch on my rails which I like A LOT more then "Ole sticky aka the 8 finger special" (stock bt3k switch).

there's a bt3000/3100 forum and also archives, but It may be hard - they lost a lot of old stuff in various system crashes.
