    cleaning 'er up

Now that I've joined the happy family of bt owners I have some questions on it.

The tray (aluminium I'm assuming) for the sliding mitre and the rails have some crap on it for a better word. I'd like to get it all ship shape but wondered if there were any do's or don'ts to cleaning these parts.

I thought I read somewhere ( can't remember where ) that the bt has a problem with dado sets, is this true?

I was considering getting a router table part as my one doesnt have the holes for it, does anyone here use a router mounted this way and if so are they happy with it? I looked at the router set up on the c'man pro yesterday but with the xmas rush I couldn't make my mind up on if it was useful or not.

    Cheers,

On the SMT, ry soap and water, or perhaps mineral spirits if the crap is gummy. Avoid car waxes/polishes. Use Johnson's paste was only.

I use a 8" dado set but some people recommend the 6" variety because you can't cut dados wider than just under 3/4" with the 8" set.

I have a Hitachi M12V mounted in the accessory table for my saw with a simple, home-built fence that I clamp to the rip fence and I'm pretty happy with that setup right now.

I have a DeWalt plunge router attached. Sometimes I use it handheld, and other times it's on the BT3K. If I had a lot of room, I'd probably make a router table that was larger. But it works as is in my space limited shop.
