Help Please, Cant raise or lower blade

The motor housing will not raise or lower. It appears that threaded hole in the motor housing fig 43 on page 33 has stripped. The elevating shaft just spins and doesn’t move the motor housing up or down when I turn the blade adjusting handle. Page 48 of the manual shows item 9 as the motor bracket assembly. I’ve found the part # 4800031 for this item, but can’t seem to find where to but it... can someone give me a link for a parts supplier.
Also has anyone experienced this problem? It looks like major surgery to replace this part. What am I looking at as far as replacement of the part.
Terrible timing with the holidays so close and I’m behind on my gift making.
    Any help would be appreciated
    Thank you very much
    Mike

I have not actually order any parts for mine, but I think some reference has been made to contacting Ryobi directly in the past. If not surely they could tell you where to go.

This stripping of threads is something that crops up from time to time and always has. The best fix is to tap and install a helicoil thread insert. Several forum members have done this and with luck perhaps one of them will offer the use of their kit and an insert for a reasonable fee. Barring that you may want to check your yellow pages for a machine shop nearby. With both parts in hand motor housing and shaft, you may find one that will install an insert for a small wad of cash.

I think helicoil is a trade name. You can go to a automotive parts store and they will often have these kits or competing thread insert kits available and or the tools for rent/loan, not really expensive. The elevation screw and required helicoil insert is a 9/16"-12 tpi.

          See this thread.

Also search the BT3 FAQ linked below for helicoil for more information. Better hurry the link is only good until Dec 4.
