Installing a router on the BT3100

I just opened my BT3K series accessories kit and I'm reading the Router Mounting Kit manual.

Has anyone installed a rounter on their BT3100?

It looks like it will only take a Ryobi Model Router.

    R160, R161, R165, RE170, RE170VS, R175, RE175, R180, RE185, RE600 and RE601.

Does anyone have experience with any of these models?

    Tks,

    John

I mounted my portercable router on my bt3100 by using the baseplate of the router as a template and drilling holes in the mounting plate.

Generally decent routers for the price, check the very nice FAQ provided by Mr. L. Chien at http://www.bt3central.com/showthread.php?t=19968 for other options.

I have a basic Craftsman unit mounted on my 3100. Lined up with the holes without any problems.

The Craftsman routers were OEM'ed by Ryobi so that's why they fit. Ward Probst is right, there's a goodly section on routers for the BT3s in m BT3 FAQ
