Is this the new BT3x Table saw?

SEARS just came out with this new portable for $469.99 that obviously inherits the basic design, with some welcome additions.
Also, they have a smaller similar one for $269.99.
    Here is Sears' comparison: http://www.sears.com/sr/javasr/produ...43&prodCount=2
If anyone has experience with either one I'd like to see a post as I am considering a purchase

I've been using a BT3000 for about 9 years as a pro finish carpenter and like the precision and low weight, but mine took a dive off my pickup at speed and needs some parts:

    Rip fence complete
Sliding Mitre Table plastic sliding parts, or whole assembly
Front & rear sheet metal cabinet panels that support the table
Front fence rail with printed inch scale.

If anyone has them for sale, emailme or call (316) 461-7931 in Wichita, KS

    Hi Buggywhip,

It's too bad about your BT crashing! That must have been a bad day in Blackrock.

It would appear that something is going to happen with the Ryobi BT3K, but it's unclear exactly what that would be. Home Depot has started winnowing their inventory, with many people reporting that there are no saws in stock at their local store. There have been no announcements, though, of any replacement or addition to the product line.

The $469 unit you found at Sears seems to definitely be a BT3K derivative. It comes with the accessory kit and the mobile stand and would probably be a good successor to your recently departed saw. Any accessories or jigs you have are likely to bolt right up to it. A search here might find the first reviews, which seem to be favorable.

The $269 unit doesn't look like a BT3K to me. Maybe it's a BTS20? In any case I'd think you'd be disappointed with it - not accurate, not compatible, etc.

Keep an eye on the Member Classifieds section of this forum for occasional opportunities on the parts you asked about. You might post there specifically to ask about availability of those things.

    Good luck,
    JR

I don't think it is the new BT3X. Can't prove it, just a gut feeling from conversations with Ryobi people. My sources don't know for sure what's going on but the gist is a "BT32X." The Sears derivative has been out for some months now but I think it is just a derivative rather than a replacement. I'll see if I can find out more.

the little saw is a BTS15 or 20 or something.
The bigger saw is a BT3100 derivative with a roll around base. It's described and differentiated in the the BT3 FAQ.

It's got miter slots in the aux table that everyone ohs and ahs over but they aren't aligned to the blade, so can only be used with the router.
