    Electrical Burn Smell From BT3100

My BT3100 has been stinking a little bit when I use it, like an electical fire, only not as bad as that. Thre is no no smoke -- yet. Anybody care to speculate about what is going on here. The saw is working fine, but I can't imagine that this a problem to ignore. Thanks in advance for any help.

Clean it really well and inspect the belts.

Check the motor brushes for correct seating and freedom of movement in the brush holders. If one or both aren't seated against the commutator there will be arcing and electrical smell.

"That" smell is usually either brushes not making good contact and arcing badly or your winding insulation is overheating and breaking down.
Check and reseat the brushes as Ken suggests, if it still does it and it's in warranty I'd investigate taking it back because shorted windings (the eventual result of insulation break down) will result in a dead motor.
