    Micro-positioner

    I had always been under the impression that these were a hard to find item. As it turns out the Sears version can be ordered online:

      You're right!
      The one branded as "Craftsman" and the one made by "Ryobi" are identical in every respect, except for the name on the boxes. I know 'cause I have one of each.

          I got mine from sears, finally, and was not surprised to see a Ryobi instruction sheet along with the Sears one.

          BTW, for Candians out there, it's Part# 9-27814 for Model#315-274130

              I also have the Craftsman branded version. I think this micropositioner is one of the best features of the BT3x. It's very handy to be able to use the positioner to precisely position the rip fence. I've added a rare earth magnet in a cup to the positioner (glued on with epoxy above the hook of the positioner) and steel washers on the rip fence so I couple to the rip fence magnetically. This eliminates all but the thread take-up of the play in the positioner and also eliminates the need to lift the rip fence to hook up the positioner.

                          Just saw one on ebay. Unlike most BT3 parts, its a real auction, not "buy it now".
