    Replacement Arbor Nut

Does anyone know a source for a new arbor nut? I may have over-torqued mine once or twice. It tightens fine but it's tricky to get started. Would like to have one on hand....just in case.

Looks like part number 969226-001 (hex nut 5/8-18) $3.15 + $2.99S&H there. The clincher is that the nut has left-hand thread, otherwise you could easily get it at HD for like $0.50

Even though its a lefthanded nut,
you might try the local Ace or other hardware store. Also any shop that repairs power tools. The 5/8" left-hand threaded arbor nut is very common
for table saws and (I'm thinking, but maybe mine uses a bolt) miter saws and some circular saws.
It's not exclusive to Ryobi, anyway.

Keep in mind that the arbor nut does not have to be gorilla tight. It is self tightening as the motor spins the arbor. Usually snug is good enough.

Its also very easy to crossthread as the two flats on the arbor allow several entry points to the threads of the nut. Make sure its threaded right and don't force it, should spin on by hand.
