Do you have specific need for those types of blades?

Recently, what I have been buying a lot of have been the Pruning Blades for my sawzall. I am prepping an area for concrete and hit a maze of roots from a nearby tree. My method is to find a spot where I can dig deep with a post hole digger to create a drainage sump, then water blast the root network to expose them and have a sand free access to cut them. Later the sump will get filled with crushed recycled cement. It is amazing what I found. I saved several sections of root cuttings that were roots that had crisscrossed each other and fused/grown together.
Now if only those blades were on sale !

          I'm confused.
Are you talking about 9" Circular saw blades fpr a table saw
or 9" Sawzall-type blades for a reciprocating saw?

At first I thought 9" blades must be cicrcular blades and Diablo is knwn for circular blades, but then you mentioned sawzall so now I'm not sure anymore.

9" is a not a real popular size for a circular blade but they do make them. 9" is long for sawzall but they also do make them that long for pruning and demolition and stuff.

They are "Demo Demon" Blades. "Demo" as in demolition, both types 9" in Length not diameter, to be used in a reciprocating "sawzall" type saw. Their regular price is over $3.59 each.

When posting deals, please include the SKU numbers and a scan of the receipt. It's likely that deal was only at your store, and without the SKU and receipt no one else will be able to get the deal. For example, my local stores have never carried that model number but do carry a similar model number. The SKUs may be the same, though, and there is a chance of a price match if we have a SKU and receipt.

I'm a little surprised they would let you clean them out, and frankly it seems a little greedy, in my opinion. It seems like a gloat might be more appropriate in another forum such as "around the coffee pot" since not enough information was provided to reproduce the deal, even if other stores did have the deal, so it's not a deal others can get.

The big problem with HD clearance is that it varies store to store and region to region. It's often very difficult to find deals at other stores, unless they are nationally advertised sales.

These were on a display that had many hooks that had been emptied prior to my arrival, so what I purchased were the last of the lot that based on how many were able to fit on each long hook 10-12 times the number of hooks - about 30 per side = 60, so that there were probably several hundred originally.

As for your "opinion"- well you know the story- "Everyone's got one"

I really have two concerns, whether buying large quantities deprives others of the deal, and whether they were bought for resale. These questions arise whenever someone buys a lot of something, it's not directed at you personally.

Pretty much all stores prohibit buying for resale, though prosecution is unlikely in most cases. The only cases I know of involve people who bought and resold at garage sales without getting a garage sale permit or paying the sales tax on their sales - and it was the state taxing authority that initially charged them.

The point of this particular forum is to share deals that others can get - that's why that is explicitly stated in the forum description at the top of the page, and why "gloats" are specifically excluded from this forum.

If your intent was to share the deal so others could get it, please provided enough information that others have the possibility of getting the deal. If your intent was to gloat and boast, that might be better received in a different forum.

Other people CAN get that deal--if the HD they go to has them priced that way and they have stock. The OP clearly stated his use which justifies the quantity purchased--though that is not really necessary. Geez.

In the past (actually about 20years ago) i've used my reciprocating saw to cut roots for post holes--borrowed my Dad's saw to do it and bought my own just because of that usage!! I don't have that much use for demo blades now, would be nice to have a few. Not worth the 60 mile round-trip to check the nearest HD. But I do appreciate the heads-up on the pricing. Thanks!!

+1. I didn't read the post as a gloat, but rather as a heads up. Of course, I would check online first, and with some local stores to see what is available or not. But, the heads up is definitely a bargain alert.

I've bought quantities when the price was down, as the item might be one that I use in my daily work. Needy isn't greedy, I don't think.

That's kind of the point, there is not sufficient information for anyone else to get the deal. We need at least the SKU number, since different HDs stock different variants of the manufacturer's part number but sell them under the same SKU.

It could have been a special buy at one particular store only, since the manufacturer part numbers posted are not stock items for HD in my region. It's likely this deal was only at the single HD the OP visited.

Thanks for the heads up! I do a lot of demo, and I can always use a good blade. Ordered a few online, and I'll have to make my way over to Richfield sometime this week to pick them up.

"When posting deals, please include the SKU numbers and a scan of the receipt"

                              1. Don't have a scanner.
                              2. My receipt does not have any SKU numbers on it nor does the package.

However if it will make your day, here are the bar code numbers that ARE on the receipt-
                              1. Nail Embedded = 0892509964
                              2. Bi-Metal = 0892509963

And as has been previously addressed by others regarding disparaging comments about "greed", anyone that has shopped for reciprocating blades is aware that they are often sold in packs of 5, 10, 15 and larger amounts, so my purchase of 14 of one type and 13 of another are not unusual based on NEED.

" It seems like a gloat might be more appropriate in another forum such as "around the coffee pot" since not enough information was provided to reproduce the deal, even if other stores did have the deal, so it's not a deal others can get."

My intent was to share a BARGAIN, and ANY INFORMATION is better than none, if it will give a heads-up for someone like interested.

So you have made Three Assumptions of greed, gloat, and that I have a scanner- all incorrect.
Well you know what they say about "assuming".

When someone finds a good deal, that with good intentions, they want to share, it does not encourage them to post again when someone nit-picks their posting because it doesn't measure up to their "opinion" of perfection-posting, coupled with negative personal comments.
