I have to say that I've been very pleased with the Stone Mountain bits in terms of cut quality. I can't speak to their longevity, as I don't router much. Not 'brag to your momma' deals here, but some savings can be had.

The $10 is a sale price, most of the Stone Mountain bits at Peachtree normally go for $20+.
I've got a few stone mountain bits and I've been pleased with the quality too. They're not Whiteside quality, but they don't come at those prices either. To me,they seem a lot like the Holbren line Brian closed out a while back.Erik

At The Woodworking Shows the last few years they (Peachtree) have had bins full of these Stone Mtn. bits for $5 each. Maybe they were cheap because they were all mixed up and you had to search for what you wanted.Loring in Katy, TX USA

I wasn't planning on it Tommy. Hoping to find a flea market here related to my latest thread over on WWT.
I have (I think) three different sets of SM bits - a dovetail set (no idea why I bought), a cabinet door set and a 24pc starter set. All were wrapped in this really nice rubber(?) coating.
Like I said, I don't router often, but when I do I reach for these first. Outside of a major sale elsewhere, I think I'll be porting most of my assortment over to this brand outside of my huge Milwaukee panel bits.

I bought a few... here's some pics of the bits with their number and price on the green tags... Look up the numbers in Peachtree's ad linked in the OP, same series of bits...
I'm just saying, $10 is not a bad price, but its twice the lowest price I've seen every year at TWS for these bits. Buyer Education...
Actually I see that the bits I bought and that were at the show were the simpler, smaller diameter bits with/out bearings. I see some of the $10 bits have bearings and larger profiles which makes them a better buy.Loring in Katy, TX USA
