Ryobi 16" variable speed scroll saw - $90 @ HD

I don't know if they are clearing them out or not but it was marked with a yellow sticker for $90. Normally $120. They had a bunch of other bench top tools for $120 each but only the scroll saw was marked down to $90.

This saw decent for occasional work (model making)? I'm not going to do any fret work at all. Takes both pin and plain blades.

i found two of them in a HD in the bronx i NY. they were priced at $.01 and classified as a clearance item. the store refused to sell them, even at the last price prior to the $.01 markdown. yet, 15 mins north of that store, in portchester, ny, the same saws are for sale at full price.

That's a good price for this saw. I received one as a birthday present last year. It's a great little saw with easy to change blades and nice features like dust collection and variable speed. It has handled everything I can throw at it.

Last price I had seen was about $29.03 as they were being clearanced out, great price if they are being clearanced out at your store, but I understand they are returning as many as possible to Ryobi for credits now to be resold on E-bay by another discount dealer source. If ya can find one they are not too bad of a scroll saw.

Thanks for the feedback. I'm only going to use it for model making so I'm not going to really tax it.

$29.30??? Wow! When was this? If that was the price I saw yesterday I would have just bought it right off the bat. My HD has 4 left plus the floor model.

Better go and check again today!

It does seem like Home Depot is dropping a LOT of Ryobi and Ridgid branded woodworking tools, table saws, sanders, planers, jointers, scroll saws, you name it, they are dropping it.. My local Home Depot has a tag on the shelf for them for $129.00, but there hasn't been one on the shelf for at least 6 months...
