ChestMate Dovetail Jig at Sears for $39.97

I was at the local Sears here in Greensboro, NC and at a Sears in Charlotte, NC and both have the ChestMate Dovetail Jig on clearance for $39.97. I don't know anything about these jigs, but for the price I picked one up to try. The Sears in Charlotte also had various drill bits, screwdrivers, and "Footprint" woodworking tools on clearance - some up to 80% off retail price.

As usual, the Sears in this area does not have it. I didn't remember having seen it, and sure enough, they don't. They never had any of the Freud blades that was often reported on this site on clearance. I had looked there for them before the clearance started. Guess this just isn't a big Sears area. Thanks for posting though.

        jig

If I am not mistaken, this is an item carried at HF stores
if so with the 20 percent coupon could be less than $40

          Price drop

The Sears store in northern Cincinnati charged $11.97 for his item, originally $120. If you go to the Prazi website, they will take you to a video by Woodworkers Guild of America where they do a review. Looks pretty slick although certainly more time consuming than jigs such as the Porter Cable 4210. You must make through dovetails with this jig although you can have any pin spacing you want and any width. This Sears also has the Sears Professional 16-inch dovetail jig, which looks very similar to the Porter Cables, for $79.

I got the last one at the Pineville, NC store. The box was marked 39.97, but it rang up for 11.97. If you found one and are waiting for the price to drop, ask the sales guy to scan it.

Now I need a deal on router bushings and a 7 degree bit.

Thanks twilson, I needed a dovetail jig, but not bad enough to pay for a porter cable. I think this will work well for the handful of times I need it.

Not sure if you would consider this a bargain, but on eBay there is generally a person selling the Akeda kits. There is PN 3300 on there right now, new for $99. Normally a $300 Kit:

This system has rather unique router bit requirements of a dovetail bit at either 3/4 inch 14 degree or 5/8 at 7 degree and a 5/16 straight bit. Any suggestions on if they are necessary to use this jig and if so, what is a good source?

                        Found some in Plano TX

I picked one up for $11.97 last night at the Collin Creek Mall Sears in Plano TX. They still had two more on the shelf.
