i think they went for $85 to $100 in the stores when you could get them back around 1997-1999. So $200-240 is exaggerated, $48 is a good price though. There's comments on it in the BT3 FAQ.

That's the cheapest I've ever seen on a NIB folding table. They don't come up for sale all that often either.

Picked it up yesterday, thanks for posting this.

          And yes, it's heavy.

Lucky guy, I've been wanting one for a while. I've been meaning to DIY, just have had too many higher priorities to finish.

              Gfc62,
I always found on mine that the left side hinge was right where the SMT wanted to go.
I moved the hinge over so its behind the main table and have been happy ever since, the SMT can go back far enough to use on most all cuts with the table up and all the way nback with the table folded.

Thanks for the tip, I was wondering about whether it would interfere, I'll try that mod when I install this.

I'll also email the seller if she has any other BT3K stuff for sale. Maybe she has some lighter stuff that could ship. I meant to ask but I never even met her -- she left the box on her porch and I left the money in an envelope. It felt like I was in a bad spy movie

Glad you grabbed it. She's a pretty trusting seller, must have been some good communication on your part.

                    Wow

That's almost unheard of! It is nice that She dared. I probably would think that She was selling a bad unit. You were trusting too!

I was pretty direct, no haggling but got the feeling maybe it was a divorce situation, like she didn't want to deal with the details, just wanted that heavy box out of the garage.

Reminded me of the old joke:
A man saw an advertisement in a paper which read, "Porsche for sale: $200." He went to view it, expecting to find a battered heap of rust, but instead found himself face to face with a gleaming new model in mint condition.

"Why are you selling it for $200?" he asked the lady.

"Simple. Last week, my husband ran off with his secretary. He said: "You can keep the house, but sell my Porsche and send the money to me."

To keep this on topic, I emailed and asked if she had any other tools for sale but no reply.
