That's a good buy on a nice jointer. IIRC mine cost the same $299 with a mail-in rebate, about six years ago. I've occasionally wished for the wider cutterhead or longer beds of an 8" machine but I've found no shortcomings with the JP0610 for what it is.

Wow, the free shipping has got to be costing them a ton on that item. I have it and it's not exactly light.

A wood magazine from a couple years ago rated this as the top value in their 6" Floor Standing Jointers, and that was when it was at the $420 price.

I have the older gray version of this jointer. Great machine. I paid $320 several years ago when HD had a 20% off Christmas sale.

Thanks for posting this. I have had my eye on this jointer for a while, so I jumped on it as soon as it was posted. $313.95 total after sales tax... Not too shabby!
