there's gotta be a missing digit in there someplace.

And I'm not talking about a severed finger either!

The extra shipping charge kills the deal for me.

I am really looking forward to removing all that cosmoline.

What I don't understand is how this happens still. I did place an order but I also expect to have it cancelled tomorrow. It is kinda like buying a lottery ticket adn imagining you might win until you lose.

As a fairly new (but old) wood worker, I was thinking about who would use a 20" planer in the first place. Wouldn't one need a 20" jointer (or I guess build a hurking sled for the planer)? Now I'm fortunate enough to be able to use my own harvested wood (eventually) for woodworking, but I doubt I will have any 20" stuff I'd keep vs selling it as timber. Seriuosly, are 20" pieces common for general woodworking as well as being cost effective?

              just wondering

Not often you are going to be running 20" wide stock, but most bench top planers are 13" or less. I lot of times I could have used a wider planer to make a final pass on glue ups.

As to the sale price, I also betting there is a typo in the ad...

We'll see what happens. I'll bet there is a missing 9 as well.

The add has been corrected I would got one at the 199 price and use the **** out of it.

I ordered one last night - expecting this - Rockler just called and said it was a typo. The price was 1999.99. I tried.

                          5HP single phase current draw

I agree with Pappy on glue ups.

Does anyone have an idea on how many amps a 5HP single phase 220v motor is going to draw? The PM manual doesn't state this figure.

The Specs on Powermatic's Website for the 209 has it listed as 21A.
