Thanks for posting this. I read the reviews and users complain about changing blades being a fussy process. I would love to hear comments on this from owners of this saw. I have a Grizzly Jigsaw that I like except for the blade changing process.

The Ridgid jigsaw is like a lot of other jigsaws in that when you first start to use it out of the box the blade locking mechanism can be rather tight. Because of this sometimes the blade will not seat all the way. All that is required though is just an extra little shove of the blade into the mechanism to ensure it's seated all the way. After using the jigsaw for awhile the blade locking mechanism gets worn in and installing the blades isn't a problem any longer. I wouldn't consider this a negative at all as eventually when the newness wears off the problem does goes away.

I have the cordless, same design The blade need to be firmly pressed into the shaft and pressure kept on the spring while releasing the clamp lever, if you do not it will be loose. a good saw considering the price and made in China, not as good as my Swiss Bosch over 15 y.o.
