rotozip hold down clamp - deal IMHO

I was lucky enough to find one of the rotozip tile dock kit at lowes marked down to $50 that was posted here a while back and I got to looking at the included clamp (the rod is 19/32"). The clamp works in the bench dog holes in my HF table! So thought I would inquire to see if I could purchase some additional ones and got an email back on how to get them and cost. Thought I would share the info in case someone else would like some. The clamps cost was $9.25 +$4 shipping. The part number is #2610001318, the number to call for Customer Service Department at 1-800-437-3635, Monday - Friday, 7:00am to 6:00pm CST.

When compared to this... it's a deal

That does sound like a good deal -- thanks!

(What diameter are the holes in your HF table? If I'm going to start drilling, I might at least make holes a size that's known to work ;D)

That's an interesting question and answer.
I thought traditionally all dog holes in benches were 3/4"
          What's in your bench?

If your only tool is a hammer, you tend to treat all problems as if they were nails.

Beginners' luck (and a gut feeling that if anyone made non-standard holes in wood, it'd be HF)

            What's in your bench?
My bench doesn't have any dog holes (yet) -- though I have a couple of those fold-up mini-benches (Bench-mate?) that come drilled & have plastic dogs

B&D Workmates have 3/4" holes. and come with plastic dogs/stops.

There are a lot of products that use round 3/4" holes. The 3/4" dog hole is the most common.

There are a few that use 5/8", like the smaller Jorgensen holdfast. http://www.amazon.com/REACH-BENCH-HO...ref=pd_cp_hi_1 I didn't realise it was for 5/8" holes until I tried using mine in my 3/4" holes.

That rotozip clamp does seem to be a good deal, if you're going to go with 5/8" holes. It doesn't have the height capacity like some of the other clamps though. It could be a good solution for working with flat stock.

I recently picked up the Veritas hold down from Lee Valley that tewilk linked to. It is a great hold down. Much easier to use and much more stable than my cast iron holdfast.
