    Hey,

    I'm a bit confused. Is this saw a BT3 clone/sister?

Meaning does it have a riving knife?

    Thanks,

The Craftsman 21829 is the sole remaining BT3x00 variant left on the U.S. market. Yes it has a riving knife, and all the rest of the BT series... It also has a nicer top, with miter slot on the router accessory table, a great folding stand for those with tiny shops to wheel the saw into a corner after use, longer rails, etc... Overall it is an improved BT3100... If I didn't already own one, and I had the money right now, I would snap one up...

Yes, it is basically the latest version of the BT3. It comes complete with the SMT (sliding miter table) and an accessory table with a router mounting kit.

There are a few differences between it and the Ryobi BT3.
Mainly; the rails are 6" longer, and the accessory table is wider and has two miter slots (which are about useless for using a miter with the saw), the saw table and accessory table are powder coated and do not have the slotted faces.

I have had one for a few years now and love it. Getting one at this price would be a great deal.

You suppose Bing Cashback is valid on that deal too?

Just my luck. Wouldn't you know it just when I want to sell mine sears puts it on sale then bing gives even more cash back on it. Shakes tiny internet fist at both of them.

Thanks for the quick turnaround on the info guys.

Just wanted to make sure it was a respectable BT3k "clone". Appears to be, so between that and the space saving foldup stand, I'm happy.

I bought one.... they're out of stock in my area so I'll have to wait about 2 weeks before i can pickup at the store.

You might take a look at the Shark Guard. It is a really great removable blade guard with dust collection. You can remove the guard (without opening the throat plate) and still keep the riving knife. It was one of the best upgrades I did on mine.

Good score. I have a BT3100. Would have preferred the 21829 due to the folding stand. (Space issues) and the better router accessory table...

Got the saw over the weekend and assembled it. Really nice, more than I thought it would be.

So where's the best place to get zero clearance insterts for it?

                    Thanks,
