Incra V27 miter gauge $48 through Amazon - Free ship

This isn't sold by Amazon (at least not at this price), but is sold by Woodpeckers THROUGH Amazon:

    http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00...SIN=B0007UQ2DW

The Amazon price on this gauge is currently $68, as is rockler's. However, it is worth nothing that the Amazon price does go up and down a bit. I bought from amazon directly and paid $49 the other month. So if you've got some time to wait and have a reason to order from Amazon itself, you could get pretty much the same price. Though with free shipping from Woodpecker, I'm not sure why anyone would wait.

Well that's the reason I'm not getting one. But I figured there were many people not as smart as us.

I was going to order one and dedicate it to my router table. Then I saw this video and decided that I like their $1 version better. Now, I don't need one.

Dave, a couple of toggle clamps and a piece of removable hardwood would be about all that is needed to really make use of that push block. If I get some time in the shop this weekend, I may have to make one myself.

When you take a pushblock like that and add a couple of clamps, then you need an underlayer to push back on the clamping force.

Now you have what is called a Coping sled which are quite commomnly used and not all that hard to build. Do a search on Google for Coping sled, also Woodpecker, MLCS, and others have some coping sled that cost between $20 and 100 depending upon features and size.

The coping sled is a must for smaller pieces that are hard to hold either safely or conveniently or effectively.

Loring, you're exactly right. I've been having a few "brain farts" as of late, and that was one of the smaller of them.

Down to $47.xx again with free shipping.

Even with the POS that just came with my R4511, i cant justify a miter gauge upgrade.... yet

I needed to remove the front lip thingy that holds it in the track... take it to the belt sander and take a fully 1/16" off... but now runs smooth and steady enough for the work i do.

3 adjustable positive stop settings... all ive needed.
