Label Maker for workshop - great deal

Spotted this bargain, and wanted to pass it on. I use a similar label maker for the workshop. Great to label jars of screws and those little parts cabinet drawers.

Also terrific to make wire labels for new circuit additions, and to label the water valve shutoffs in the basement.

You get it - tons of uses.

Also available from "TechForLess" through amazon for $7:

    Dymo LM150 on Amazon

I haven't ordered from labelcity or techforless. But I have heard techforless's name a lot more often and ordering from amazon always gives you protection.

Then again, a search for labelcity doesn't show any weirdness in google. So what do I know?

Label City has a $15.00 minimum order. So, I bought three!

Yup, I was thinking too good to be true but then saw less than $7 on Amazon also. Hopefully someone will post that they have had a positive experience with Lablecity...... even then buyer beware is the smart thing to do.

I dislike the "minimum order" thing. If I want to buy one screw and am willing to pay the s&h, someone should be willing to sell it to me.

It doesn't appear to have spell check on it. The way I spell I'll still have to look in the box to know what is in there.

              Label City

I did the original post - receive updates because I have ordered from label city. Bought the Dymo 450 from them on a great special a few months ago, and have bought labels from them as well.

Never caught the minimum as I always have ordered more, so I appologize for that one.

If you put in "99SHIP" you get shipping for 99 cents as well.

Thanks for that Gary! That is one smoking hot deal. Too bad there is a min order size.

Thanks for the heads up on this one. I've been wanting/needing a label maker for awhile now. The "99SHIP" is only good for orders over $49 though. At least thats what the lady told me at the sales desk. As for the $15 minimum order, she told me that if you place your order over the phone, the shipping cost counts towards your minimum order.

Heartily recommend labelers for the shop and home.

i can't speak for the Dymo labeler but i have severral of the Brother P-touch labelers and they work great. I don't think i got any as cheap as the Dymo listed here but i know some of them are under $20 and the label materials are easy to come by.

if your last experience with a label maker was the old dymos using the embossing tape and you had to rotate the alpha wheel and squeeze the handle for each letter, they've come a really long ways...

Yeah, we have the Brothers at work and they work great. We use them for all sorts of things (servers, wiring). It is amazing how much time a single label can save you.

BUT ANYHOW, the thing that always drives me nuts about the Brother is the amount of wasted white space on either side of the label.

We actually trim them so they don't look so goofy.

I wonder if the Dymo would be better in this regard.

With the handheld Brothers I have had the same issue.

When driven by the PC (at least with some flavors of the software) you could tell it not to cut the labels, and then there was much less wasted space between them. If you're already trimming them it would actually save time to have them non-cut...
