Just picked on up on clearance from them for $45 on clearance.

just went to Lowes, just to check, of course I didn't expect to find it, and I was right. Well, there was a big yellow price tag saying "NEW LOW PRICE" - $89.99, not really a great saving.

If you have reason to believe an item may be on Clearance, ask the clerk to scan the barcode to verify the price. I did this when they had the Delta JT-360 Jointer on clearance - the register Clearance price was $269. The price tag on the machine was around $500! The guy slapped a Clearance sticker on it before I left.

A few weeks ago, when I was in the store they had a sign saying new lower price. And then as you see I snagged a pretty good deal.

Took copies of the receipts to my local Lowels. The price was labeled a "new low price" at $89.00. It also scanned at $89.00. They only had one left, took it to the service desk. Said they would honor the price and beat it by taking another $5 off. So got it for $40.00. They told me it the item had been on clearance at their store then they might not honor the price. Said stores handle "clearance" item differently.
Thank all for the info. Best deal I've ever gotten at Lowes.

Lots of reports of bringing the reciept in being successfull on other forums as well. So I'm going to give it a go tomorrow. Though my recent interactions with Lowe's haven't been all that succesfull.

And once again, my local Lowes fails me.

Shot down because the reciept I brought in "was from last month" and "it might have been a clearance item at the other store".

So....whatever I guess.
