Irwin Quick Grip Clamps at Menards

Menards has the 4 pack of 6" clamps or a 10 piece set for $14.98 each. The 10 piece set is a nice assortment and to me seems like the better deal. This is part of a 25% off all Irwin hand tools sale.

Below is a link to an Ebay listing showing the 10 piece set:

The ten piece set looks like a good deal. Having a variety can be very useful.

I like the quick grip but have found little use for the handi clamps (the ones at the top of the card) and the spring clamps are not strong enough for the size of them. The price seems good, alas, no Menard's hereabouts.

Bill, that's my opinion and I'll stick with it until I change my mind.

I agree, the handi clamps aren't of much use. The only time I have found them handy is when I needed a little more depth than my other quick grips could handle. Their clamping force has a bit to be desired too.

I do like the 6" quick grips though, I've got a mess of them. That's not a bad price for a 4pack.

I agree with Bill here, the only clamps in the 10- pack assortment i would have a use for in my shop are the quick grip types.
In fact I love the quick grips. Don't really like the spring clamps.

THe OP didn't say whether the quick grips are the standard ones or the minis. I have four of the standard ones and they provide a combination of one-handed convenience and gripping power. The minis I have about 20, I keep buyng the four packs when they go on sale for $20. They're all over my shop and are the go-to clamp for just about anything not requiring huge clamping power but moderate power and high convenience.

$15 for four minis would be a great deal.
$15 for four standard ones would be a steal!

I used to use the handi clapms a lot on my drill press before I built a good decent top to accept surface hold downs. The arms of the 4" ones had enough clearance for the short ribs on the bottom of the cast table.

They're OK for doing some assembly work, guaranteed one handed operation. Sometimes I'd have problems getting the quick grips spread open quickly with just one hand.

I've quit collecting the 6" minis. My rack has 22 now and there's only 2 slots open. (well, maybe just two more will be good, then I'll be done )

Not to say the handi clamps are completely useless, they work great for holding a paint brush up in the top of the thinner and in the middle of the can and have been known to entertain young children for hours. They also do a good job of keeping the potato chip bag closed.

Hmm, never thought about the thinner tip. That's a good one.
