Not a bad price, but anything larger than 1-micron will leave you coughing and dusting in your shop. Better figure in the cost of a couple new bags or a canister unit.

Consider a Wynn paper cartridge at $103.00, that would make the rig $228.00. Is that too much?

For me the big drawback is the 220V. None of that in my shop yet.

Sounds like a reasonable price to me. I'm not certain, but some 220V tools can be modded to 120V, but a real 2HP at 220V is a pretty stout load. Not all standard circuits could accommodate it, particularly if wire runs are longish.

The G1029 is the DC unit I've been running for the past 7 years or so. It's a workhorse and a great basic unit with a stout motor and a larger impeller. Three of my friends have the same unit...some of which really have some miles on them without issue. I've added a JDS cannister to it and use 6" mains. The amp load is in the range of 20-26 amps at 120v, but is convertible to 240v which makes it about half that.

I think I paid $240 (+ tax) directly from the Muncy store.
Happiness is sort of like wetting your pants....everyone can see it, but only you can feel the warmth.

dbhost...can you post a link to the paper cannister filter you mentioned above? thanks.
there's a solution to every problem.......you just have to be willing to find it.

2 HP on a 110v circuit would be doable, but you'd need a dedicated circuit...

              2 HP = ~1500 watts = ~14 amps at 110 volts (~7 amps at 220 volts).

Most 110v circuits are rated at 15 amps-- pretty rarely they go up to 20 amps.

I don't know anything about converting a 220v motor to 110v. I have the opposite problem- several 220v outlets and nothing to plug in to them!
