Maple Handscrew clamps $1.95

Hartville tools are clearancing out the import line of maple handscrew clamps 4" to 10" starting at $1.95 to $4.95 seems like a good price. Not Jorgensens but the price is right compared to other places I.ve seen, Cya, Tommyt

If these are like the imports I got from HF & Big Lots they're OK clamps, but not the best. The pricing is a little bit less than I've seen at the two stores above. Not a bad deal, but be aware of some quality issues (if these are the same). The photos look extremely similar.

Some of mine had some issues with the screws, damaged threads & rough movement. I've had few others jaws warp, as the wood grain used wasn't good. The majority of them aren't bad for the price, but I'll grab my Woodcraft handscrews or the large Craftsmans before I reach for the cheap ones.

I just bought a couple today. I'll let you know how they measure up. At that price I'm not exposed very much. Most of my clamps are Wetzler clamps used a lot for boatbuilding.

Hey Tom, Glad to see someone will get a deal. I read you do boat work, Thats great my Grandfather was a Shipwright in the early 20-30s up in Maryland and Massachusetts and participated in the restoration process of the U.S.S. Constitution in Boston around 1929-31 as I recall. I,ll try to see if I can get my Uncle to find some of the old pics to post here. He,s the reason I learned woodworking. In his later yrs he became a night watchman at a local high school in Baltimore, Md and during the summer I would go up and stay with he and my Grandmother. It was at that school he taught me to use all the woodshop tools and over several yrs I was fortunate enough to learn the art of woodcraft from a true Master carpenter. I have had 2 of the HF handscrews for a little over a year now with no issues. Yeah I would LOVE a collection of Jorgensons, but I can live with the HF Handscrews. Might check Hartvilles as that pricing is pretty sweet.

I pick up some of the HF handscrews each time I am there and they are on sale. At that price I have no problems modifying them for my needs and/or abusing them. As with most tools I feel they don't have to be the best, only have to do the job asked of them.
