I have been watching the DELTA 50-760 on Amazon and it has just had a price drop to $296.35, yesterday it was at $349.00, and kow it was up to $460. Ha anyone seen a better deal on this dustcollector? The only time I have seen cheaper prices the shipping charges put ii over $340, with Amazon it is free. Trying t determine if I should pull the trigger on this or not. As for now I simply use a shop vac. I am also trying to detemine if I need a dust collector or not. Whould be nice to run multiple hoses to my router table, but nearly all my tools use a standard shop vac dust port, only my jointer and bandsaw have a 4" inlet. WouldI even see enough improvement to make it worth the money?

I encourage you to get a DC, it's so much nicer in the shop when you have one. I did with the shop vacs for a long time, I think you'll find it worth the investment.

A DC is one of the best investments that you can make in your shop.Comment

I have a 50-760. Got it on Amazon about 3 years back when they had a short-term price drop to $199 and free freight. I like it a lot. You will, too...Comment

That 50-760 is probably the nicest 110V DCs on the market. Sure has my HF beat... My only wish list item for Delta with that one was that they had fitted it with a cartridge filter instead of an upper bag... But that is a detail that can be fixed with a Wynn...Please like and subscribe to my YouTube channel. Please check out and subscribe to my Workshop Blog.Comment

During the peak of our economy there were deals out there. I know I saw this on sale for the $199 price. But seeing the times and cost have gone up on most all things. I'd say that is not a bad price for your health. You probably won't have to pay tax up front, which is 8.75% here in Calif.Comment

Checking out the current price of $296.35, and seeing what you get, it does look to be a nice machine. One review also mentioned rewiring for 220v operation. A nice plus. I like the deal that Uncle C managed. Wonder if we will see something like that again.
I think in straight lines, but dream in curves

One last question. I use my garage as my shop with the garage door open. I know with the dust collector there will be less dust on th floor to get blown around. If I was in an enclosed shop I would buy it in a second, but will it really make that much of a diffence? I am leaning towards buying it, but I would hate to send the money and then discover that it doesn't make that much of a dirfference. I know atleast I wount be cloging my shop vac all the time and having to buy bags for it every 6 months.I love lamp.Comment

LB,
My back shop I keep the double French doors open in good weather, the DC makes a difference in air quality. I'd say go for it if you have done your homework and this is the one you want. I spent more money on my Oneida than I did on probably the majority of my other tools and I'm glad I did. When it's running even with the doors & four windows open the air quality in the shop is better. YMMV but I'd say go for it.

The dust collector is much more efficient in removing dust particulates, which means less dust in the air. You probably find the dust collector cheaper to run than a shopvac.
Its your lungs that breathe that dust. You decide. No good deed goes unpunishedComment

This model DC has a 1-micron bag. It will catch almost everything put through it. You do need to remember to pat down the fabric bag from time to time, so that caked-on dust can fall into the lower (plastic) bag. You can also buy disposable plastic bags to use in place of the re-usable one that comes with it. It makes disposal a snap... just tie one off and toss it, and hang another one.Comment

You wont regret it. I have one and it gets plenty of use. I aslo have a shop vac and that still gets used but mainly with smaller tools. I do combine them together when using my TS. The DC draws from the main port and I hook up the shop vac to my shark guard.Jon
