    Rockler closing stores :-(

The Rockler in Danvers, MA is closing (apparently with 6 or 7 other stores). As of today, I think everything is 20% off except power tools which are 10%.

Sorry guys, I did my best to keep them in business, but there're only so many toys I can buy.

Nothing special about those discounts. Maybe they'll get better as they get closer to the store's closing date.

According to the store manager at the Houston store, they are the top selling store, or at least were when I talked with him a few weeks ago. I think they are "safe-ish" for now.

Here in the Pittsburgh area we HAD a Woodcraft and a Rockler, both of which are/were too far for me to get to, but I have found out that the Woodcraft has bit the (saw)dust earlier this year, don't know about the Rockler!!

The store in Cleveland closed this year and Columbus closed and reopened inside a larger store called Wood Werks. This seems to be a trend.

Seems like costs for retail space keep going up and up... I guess the landlords won't be satisfied until all they got is empty buildings...

The Rockler that was closest to me closed up last year. It wasn't that close by (90 miles) but it was a few blocks from my parents house. It was nice to stop in and see things before buying them.

It seems in this economy that retail stores like this are closing. People have less money to spend.

I was just in ours, they actually expanded their store, so they must plan on sticking around. you can actually move around and find things now, unfortunately their prices tend to keep me away except for those rare things only they have.
