    Any idea how well one of these holds up in a rather damp basement? I'm really beginning to think that one of these things should be my next "big" tool purchase...

      It's great for dust but you mentioned "damp" which would relate to a de-humidifier as the possible aid for that as opposed to a air filtering system.

        I wish I had the money to take advantage of the good tool sales. This is one of the items I want...

        As far as damp basement goes, you have a problem other than dust then... You need a dehumidifier down there as well, not just for your tools, but to eliminate the environment for mold / mildew and the health impacts of those as well....

          I'm aware of the need for a dehumidifier and, in fact, do have one. So I guess the question was rather dumb. Sorry!
