Good deal if you can find it

Called all the local (Louisville) HD's and they are out. Most ran out of these sets around Xmas, so they never put them down to $99. Bad news that the new sets have only 1 and 1/2 batteries - seems like Ryobi & HD are doing darn near everything they can to not sell tools!

Picked mine up last night. The new charger definately is quicker than the original one, and I like that I can hang it on the wall.

$99 for the charger and 2 Li Batts is a solid deal, my NiCads were starting to fade in the saws and the blower.

The drill and flashlight is just a nice bonus. Having two drills on hand will be handy, won't have to switch back and forth between drill bit for pilot holes and driver bit for the screws.

      Still plenty in the ATL.

Gator95, unless you work in the cold, you will really like the LiIon's - last longer than the NiCad's and seem to pack a little more punch. My miter saw works much better with them.

          Gator,

What store did you find it in? The HD in Lilburn, GA still wanted $169.

Did you have them price check it or was that what the sticker said? The three I checked had them for $99 but two did not have a discounted sticker posted.

Thanks for the tip, found one hidden in the Eagan store. No label on the shelf, seems to have been opened before, but complete. Batteries were completely empty but charged fine. Saw quite a few of the $199 kits in another store.

I thought about that so I had them price check one. I'll try again in a week or so.

Cedar Park Texas store has both sets in stock. Picked up the $99 pack myself. Now I need to get rid of an extra drill.

This is a great deal, especially the $199 set of 4 tools. My problem is that I have 5 drills already, one Dewalt 12v nicad (good little drill), one Sears 19.2v (battery drains quickly), one B&D 14v (100 yrs old and still going) and two GMC Hammer Drills 18v (heavy brutes, but great drills for $35 each on an Amazon sale).

What I need is the circular saw, sawzall with a two battery pack + charger. Wish Ryobi would make a "Pick your own tools kit" at a reasonable price. Just can't justify buying the Ryobi LI-Ion kit. I considered the 12v Li-Ion Ryobi but fear they won't perform for what I need.

Great deal - Thanks for posting this. I've had these new batteries on my radar since they've come out but I would have missed this if you hadn't posted it. Thanks again!

Might be out of place here:

I purchased one of these at Home Depot (nice deal thanks for the heads up). Had a little trouble with charging a battery, but that seems to have sorted itself out.

                            Question:

While playing with it I found that there is a "clacking" sound when I release the trigger. There is also a decent sized spark from within the rear of the housing, visible through the cooling vents.

It (the sound) is most pronounced when in the high speed mode (gear 2), and I noticed that it dissapears when the drill is under load.

Is this normal or is there a problem with my drill?

                            Thanks,

                            Raffi

                              Mine does that, too.

Also had problems charging both batteries. I had to have the battery installed in the charger before plugging charger in.

Hope I don't need to power-cycle the charge each time I want to charge a battery.

The clacking noise and spark is the brake engaging. All drills spark a bit when you suddenly release the trigger. My Ryobi, Hitachi, and Bosch drills all spark, though none are as loud as the Ryobi's brake.
