Thanks RmeDad ,after seeing the post this morning I stopped at a local HD and got one of the last three they had. I've been keeping my eye on these new batteries since they came out but could not justify the cost until now. The next time I'm breaking down sheet goods with the small circular saw and don't have to change battery's every five minutes it will be you I will be thanking.

Thanks for the nice comments. I love my new batteries. Been using them a bunch, and haven't recharged yet....still showing green. This has to be one of the best tool purchases I have made, other than my new TS3660!!!

I only just squeezed into this deal. I saw a bunch on the shelf last week but didnt buy one then (silly me). I went back today to get one and they were all out. I then phoned round all the local stores and thought I was going to be out of luck until the last store found they still had the display.

Just got back from picking it up and batteries are on charge. I already had one lithium battery which I added to my old One+ set. This now brings me up to 3 so I should be set for a while and I will probably CL my old drill and batteries.

Finally made it to HD to look for this deal myself. Found one remaining set at the second HD I checked. This will be particularly useful for the little Ryobi chainsaw and Homelite weedwacker and hedge trimmers. Thanks for finding this one!

Can't find them here. Did find the 12V Lithium 4 tool kit - circ saw, recip, drill, light, 2 batteries, case, charger - for $149. Think that's a good deal? CK412 is the kit number.

Doh!! Thanks for pointing that out.

Strangely enough, other stores here have it on "clearance" for that, too - I just bought at the wrong store, apparently, so I'll take it back.

Yes, I would also like to thank you for the heads-up. I had wanted to switch to the Ryobi system for a while (I have an old Makita 9v system) but was waiting for a good deal.

                    This was a good deal.

I had been out of work for the last 8 months, and reading about these deals made me drool, but I had other priorities. I have since gotten a new job and deposited my first paycheck this morning. While "window shopping" tonight at HD, I looked on the low shelf of the display, and there, in a tattered box, was one 813 kit. I took it to the register, and it still rings up $99.00 I guess it was my lucky day. It feels good to find a great deal, but it feels great to be back employed.

I am glad I held out on picking up a lithium battery for 89.00. The only problem is what am I going to do with a another cordless drill? I need the batteries badly since my original 6-Pack Set (5 years old) batteries are near their last legs (2-dead, 1-ok)

I've burned up a couple of those drills over the years -- so whenever I can get a combo kit on a clearance "deal" with multiple batteries, I just figure the drill will probably come into use someday in the future.

The REAL question is what the heck am I EVER going to do with all those extra 18V Ryobi flashlights!

I love the new LIon batts too. I've been using them for about a year now, and they are much more satisfactory than the old NiMH version.

One note related to your comment... LIon batteries are the opposite of NiMH and NiCd batteries in that they prefer to be charged often. A LIon battery will last much longer before failing if you keep it topped off. Running them all the way down is aparently very hard on a LIon battery.

LIon batteries also wear out with age, no matter how much you use them. It's estimated that they can lose as much as 20% of their capacity each year, regardless of use. If you're not going to use the battery for a long period, they are best stored with a ~40% charge.

Phew- too much to think about!
