    I like the fact that it's plastic. I got the last caliper deal that Rockler had, but this one will be nice to check the diameters on pens and the finished barrels. With the metal, I had to worry that it'd scratch the finish on the hardware or barrel.

        i googled and found same plastic type set on HFT for $10,
        but also noted stainless steel 6" for $20...

        theres also some on ebay . 8"SS, $25 shipped..
        with live.com cashback you'd get it around 20 (its down to 15% today)
        other benefits i noted....rockler's looks like 1/64th increments(from conversion chart on back of tools picture)
        , the 8" go down to 1/128", and also has a fine-adjustment wheel,and a plastic storage case
        think i'll pick me up a set
