And as also mentioned, it's not the first time it's happened. I can't cite specifics because I wasn't personally involved (i.e., had not placed an order myself), but I do recall there being some fairly heated discussions here about it.

Just to be clear, an offer that's limited to supplies on hand is fine. (I think this one may have had such a proviso, but am not certain.) But changing the purchase limits while supplies to remain is different. I studied the listing for some time and could see no other reasonable interpretation other than a set consisting of two clamps, with a two-set-per-size limit. The assertation that a single clamp is a "set" is beyond absurd.

I don't know what the motive for changing the rules was, but Rockler does seem to have a hard time saying what they mean on their web site. Perhaps they ought to just shut it down and concentrate on their B&M stores.

I agree with you 100%, LarryG. Maybe they were trying to be "nice", by changing the rules, I dunno. Maybe it was their way to try and please as many people as possible, but in the process, they may have irritated just as many.

well I wasnt going to get any as I am not sure I really need them and for clamps 3' and ove I prefer something sturdier. Anyway I passed by the Rockler store today (only my 3rd visit in a week) and thought what the heck.

They had sold out of the 36" ones but had 6 of the 6" ones left and they sold them to me for the same price i.e. $2.99 each. Given that I didnt really want the longer ones it worked out quite well.

                    Rockler

I too got the shaft letter!
I had also ordered some shelf pins, but since I am paying more than double what I normally pay on those and am not getting the clamps, its worth my time to just go pick up the pins locally. Sad thing is they decided to ship just the pins before checking to see if that would be ok. I guess I will be refusing the order!
First experience with Rockler and I would have to give them 2 thumbs down.

I called Customer Service per the instructions on the order tracking page. They said, "The item you ordered is discontinued and no longer available. So your order is ... well ... there is no order. We sold out of them very quickly." Sounds like they just got slammed...

The "there is no order" part reminded me of The Matrix.

They say they'll credit my PayPal account on Friday. We'll see

I'll have to re-evaluate Rockler to a neutral status. Upon writing to them, 10PM no less, they stated I can keep the shelf supports and they will credit me the $4.69. Not a bad way to assuage a customer. I was really keen on the clamps though...
                        oh well.

I ordered even though the webpage showed sold out. I ordered 4. Got an email almost immediately of the order showing "sold out and no longer availiable" in the status and item columns. The next morning I got an email saying they've updated my order to only include 2 and they would refund the difference. Then the next day I get an email of item being shipped, including the tracking number from UPS. I ordered at about the time of three posts into the second page of this thread.

Got my order of two clamps. One was missing the plastic pad at one of the fixed ends of the clamp. Called Rockler and they said they had one to ship me out. Girl said that it had been a problem.
