Up to $66 as of 3:30 pm eastern dl savings time.

Still a good buy at that price, IMHO

That's the price from Uncle Joe's or some other merchant. Amazon still has them at $59 at least for now.

Over on the right hand side, there is a button for Amazon.com. If you click this, it gets added to your cart, where the price is $63.12....but it says it will not ship for 1-2 months.

Am I wrong or this nothing more than the the 2 outer blades from a dado set, without the chippers and shims? Is there any need for this if you have a dado set?

i think its a bit different. the carbide tips are flush on sone side and overlap by 1/16th on the other side. When you put the flush side out the cutter cuts exactly 1/4", then you put the extended side out, the blade set cuts exactly 3/8". The dado stack is a bit different.

Scored one of these at Sears for $55.50 (+ tax). Sears is not only clearing out Freud blades but router bits as well. All the Freud bits were at least half price. Picked up a couple 1/2" shank, 2" long flush trim bits for less than $3.00 each. The Sears Hardware in Bristol, CT has one more of the Box Joint Cutters and still a decent amount of bits (mostly 1/4" shank though).

A good deal and I really like the box joint cutter. Leaves the sides and bottom flat and square with a nice clean cut, as long as you use a properly made jig. I am using box joints instead of dovetails most of the time now since this is so neat and easy (and I'm lazy).

The dado stack outer blades from Freud do not have a flat top grind, so together they leave a bottom groove that looks like an M.

I stopped at two different Sears, both had other blades on clearance but the box joint were not. They are still on the net at full price as well as these two stores.
They said they would price match but NOT clearance prices.
