Amazon Lightning Deal: Hitachi C10FSB miter saw - 6:00 PM PDT Today

This will happen at 6:00 PM Pacific Daylight Time today.

I don't know what the price will be, but these are usually really good - and occasionally amazing.

According to Amazon: Savings this huge on the Hitachi C10FSB miter saw are close to historical.

If you are in the market for a Sliding Compound Miter Sale, it will be worthwhile to check it out.

I've been waiting for something like this... It's the dual bevel model too.

Interesting. Are you there for work? Do they have chains similar to Rockler/Woodcraft there? Where do people buy their tools?

I currently have the Delta 36-255L Twinlaser 12"

Any reason for me to switch to this Hitachi?

Yes, you absolutely NEED this new saw or you will never be able to make anything nice. So, you might as well ship your old junker Delta to me.

Honestly, unless you routinely need to cut wider stock than your Delta can handle, I'd say no.

I thought you had been really quiet lately Loring, glad to know you are alright.

Any chance of picking up Freud blades and bits on the cheap while you are there?

not to be argumentative, but the Hitachi reconditioned store site (reconditonedsales.com) has the recon'd version going for $309. If the amazon price isn't better than that then it's a "no-go" here. I've bought a circular saw, router combo and corded electric drill from them, all recon'd and couldn't be happier.

                        Well, for what it's worth, it's $329.

It's $329 in the Lightning Deal (Amazon Prime members get free 2-day shipping). It's direct from Amazon, and there is no mention of it being reconditioned that I could see...

$20 more for brand new with full warranty (and probably cheaper shipping.) And buying from Amazon instead of RSI. Tough choice.

Yeah, the Amazon deal is better than the reconditioned one, I'll admit that for only $20 more it's worth it. $120 more? $75 more? $50 more? opinions will vary on when a new product is worth paying more for. Again, wasn't trying to be argumentative, just pointing out alternatives.
