8" jointer = $429. less the coupon =$399. I just might go for it. And drive down to your neck of the woods to get it tax free.

That would be pretty easy. The one I go to is just off exit 3 of I-95. Just make sure you you go south on route 273 (left on the ramp.) HF is in University Plaza, which will be on your right after you go through the light. (I was just in there yesterday afternoon, checking out the dust collectors.)

Since I'm moving, I needed a trailer. The bigger folding 4x8 trailer was on sale for $250. Not a bad deal. Add a little and you could hit $300. I used the 15% off single item, that was about to expire and did a little better.

Where did you get that one? It would be even better for me.

I could use this 15% off coupon too on a compressor, but I don't see it in the past two flyers I've gotten in the mail. Where can I get one?

I don't know. HF seems to have decent enough stuff if you pick right. I would be more confident in them if I could actually use some of their stuff before buying, but that is the chance you take...

I stocked up on bar clamps from HF, and yes they deflect a little when tightened down beyond where is healthy for the wood. I was regluing a drawer front for a filing cabinet and put a good size dent in the back upright of the ash sides with the clamp. The deflection is no worse than the Jorgensens I was using on the other drawer. I would have to say at least with the REGULAR bar clamps they are every bit as good as the big brand name competitors.

I would not buy the aluminum bar clamps... Even with the I beam construction, aluminum would deflect way too much...

If I could figure out how to mount it, I would LOVE to pick up the HF 5 micron dust collector, and a bunch of fittings. I would pick up the tubing locally as I would want to use Gallvanized and ground it to my iron pipe in the house...
