It would have helped if they'd list which "select" or "qualifying" products the savings apply to.

I just picked up that Ridgid OSS the other day... I wonder if they'd give me the discount retroactively if it's one of the "qualifying" tools... Anyone have experience with this?

          Alex,

I was hoping the Ridgid OSS was included in this deal but I didn't see it in the HD add.

it wouldnt hurt to ask. if they say you have to buy one, then heck, if your with your 90 days, buy a new one and return the old one. they should know better, and just give you the discount, if applicable.

Reading the fine print in the flyer that was in our Thursday paper (LA Times)
Seems to apply to any power products or fasteners purchased in the "Tool Corral"
although they call it the "hardware department" so you can't get $30 back on $150 of spray paint equipment. Although it does include shop vac and every HD I have been in have those outside the tool corral. Must be related to some code in the SKU like Sears has.
Also you must pay for the purchase with a HD credit card.

Well, I went up to the service counter and asked if the Ridgid OSS was a qualifying tool, and they said it was. So I grabbed the receipt only to find out that there was already a $30 discount taken off it -- and I bought it on Sunday!

I wasn't paying a lot of attention to the checkout process (minding the kids and all) -- but the tool guy who carried it up for me did stop to talk to the cashier. Maybe he just saw the discount coming and threw it on there anyway.

So at the end of the day, I got that sander for $170 and didn't even realize it until tonight So go for it, big8pt!

I went into the nearest HD briefly yesterday. There are free standing signs all over advertising this sale, and the wording is a little different from online.

It says something to the effect of "ALL compressors, pneumatics, etc...". The etc was a lot of different types of tools. I had noticed compressors because that's what I'm looking to buy right now.

My main concern had been that only particular brands, or specific models, would be considered "qualifying". But it doesn't look that way.

No, that fine print in the flier is referring to the "as low as $ per month" pricing they show on the individual tools in the ad. The HD card is not required for the instant rebate.

Also - don't forget to try to use the Lowes $10 off $50 coupon you can find at Lowes stores and mentioned in another thread here.

I have just returned from the BORG where I purchased the Milwaukee Hatchet sawzall. It is just the basic machine in a cardboard box, no blades, no plastic case. Price $99. I proffered the Harbor Freight 15% off that I received on their latest flyer and the cashier said, "Wait, if you buy some more, you can get these promo discounts instead."

Well, tempting as it may have been, I asked if could I add some blades to the order and she said no problem. Still didn't want to spend that much right now, but could have gotten 20% off if I'd hit $150. End of the story, she gave me the 15% HF discount and didn't even take the coupon, just looked at it.

I suppose it depends on who you're dealing with as to what qualifies and what doesn't.

I wonder if Lowe's would match this?

If so, I might pull the trigger on the new Bosch 4100-9 table saw I've been lusting for......

Depends on your Lowe's, how close the HD is, and the manager on duty. HD had a deal for 20% off all landscape lighting and I was planning just such a job, but didn't like the things they had at HD, so I asked and Lowe's matched it.

Has anyone tried the new Lithium Ryobi One + tools? I have been contemplating buying one, but the price is still a bit steep - this deal would make it a little more tempting, but I am not sure if I should just wait a while to see if the price drops significantly.

I just received(as a Home Depot charge card holder) a no payments, no interest for 12 months coupon in the mail. Keep an eye out for that if you are planning to spend $299+ taking advantage of the Ultimate Tool Deal.
