If so, I might pull the trigger on the new Bosch 4100-9 table saw I've been lusting for......

Petey, I also wanted the Bosch before the new model came out. Our Lowe's has $599 on the 4100...pretty sure the Ridgid is $449 now minus any deals you can scare up(no pmt, no interest for a year if you get that in the mail) at the BORG. That difference will buy a lot of accessories. I haven't really checked out the new Bosch but my TS2400 is better than I will ever need!

The Bosch has a great euro style guard and rifing knife which makes it a much safer and better saw in use. It has slow start too. The stand also is better on the bosch.

Has anyone tried the new Lithium Ryobi One + tools? I have been contemplating buying one, but the price is still a bit steep - this deal would make it a little more tempting, but I am not sure if I should just wait a while to see if the price drops significantly.

I am quite happy with the LiIon batteries and tools, but I am an infrequent weekend hobbyist, so I can't speak to how they would hold up as professional tools. I am quite pleased with the performance of the Lithium batteries with all of my One+ tools - they perform as advertised by Ryobi.

As for waiting for a price drop, Ryobi claims that these new tools have been flying off the shelves since their into llast October, and actually increased the price of the 4 piece set from an original $269 to $299, so this may be the best deal you get for a while...

I picked up a Dwalt 735 planer and an 18v Drill & impact driver combo Saturday. The cashier told me the total and it checked with what I had in my head so I swiped the card. Then I realized that the figure was what it should have been before discount.

"Hey, shouldn't these gotten that discount (pointing to ad next to her)?" The cashier said "they didn't ring up that way, so no." We discussed the ad some more.. She said it was for portable power tools (she couldn't get past the first few words and missed the part about bench tools. "It's corded and isn't portable", she says. "OK, then by that reasoning a corded hand drill isn't portable either" I say. A couple phone calls to supervisors later they still can't figure it out. Probably spent half an hour..

A manager finally walks over and says come over to the service desk. He cleared it up with no problems, credited my card the first transaction and re-did it with the $150 discount.

After using the impact driver to back out three dozen screws holding the winter doghouse together, I was really pleased with the performance. I wish I would have gotten one before I screwed my 5x12 shed addition together last summer.

I played with the thickness planer a bit Saturday too on some maple flooring scraps. Wow, those things are really sweet. I had been putting off getting one for several years. I really, really wish I would have gotten one earlier.

Just picked up the Ryobi DP121L 12" drill press for $169 -30. My local HD has it under the same skew as the older DP120. Maybe that's why it doesn't show up on the web.
