You don't need a parachute to skydive, you only need a parachute to skydive twice.

You should check your math. My calculator has 63% of $428.64 is $268.65.

I think Herb's original post got the point across.

BTY - that's a good price for this stand.

Iceman has a valid point, when the math is off, it doesn't add up for me.
I don't know if the sales price is wrong, the savings, or the percentage.
turns out the savings number was wrong, instead of 29 bucks its 268-something.

I wonder how many they (Dewalt) actually sell for $429?

regular price is $189-199, that's where the $29 figure comes from.

            Thanks Tom,
Some people just have to have it explained to us.

I knew the answer was in there somewhere but I wasn't going to take the time to work on it. I had seen that offering on Am too but decided that I am not ready for it.

Agreed, but, the approach could have been different. If in doubt I would just have gone to the Amazon site and been done with it.

                along the same lines..

Home depot has been clearing out their MSUV ridgid carts,
                I paid $75.00 for one.
Some stores still have them for the orig price but they must all be going to be marked down

A while back Amazon had these for $12x.xx.

Still a good price, but depending on your saw, you might also consider the Ryobi miter saw stand (12" cms, or 10" slider according to manual). Its regular price is $99.

I also have the Ridgid MSUV (old model) and love it. For larger saws, for me, it is easier to wheel it into position then to lug the saw and stand, and set it up.

Their horrible math and ridiculous list prices aside, I'm sure you know this goes for $199 normally, so it's $40 off.
