Now at $169, this is a great option.

After this discussion - Air filtration unit HD $69, I tried locally but again failed to find a used fan/blower, so might havta get a new one, which seems to be $100+, that the least. And then some for a remote. Yes, I am going for a bigger capacity than that one at HD - dunno, somehow feel might as well.

So, how would this Jet compare in terms of (a) air moved (b) noise? As far as I see it, those are the only two things I pay money for, as the filter is always extra. Would a squirrel cage fan with equivalent CFM be less noisy, or more?

Is it worth the extra money to get a ready-to-install piece, which also has a bonus remote with it?

I think this unit is in today's Friday Sale on Amazon, so you'd better get crackin' to get that very excellent price. Usually sells for $229 or higher.

YMMV. My local Rockler has it on sale in stores for $189. With tax it calculates to about $10 more than amazon but might be worth it since you won't have to wait for shipping or risk the chance of damage during shipping. I noticed the website doesn't have it on sale so a huge YMMV.

Thanks, I've been eyeing this for a while. This finally pushed me to get it, I really should have it. For anyone wondering about the noise level, I heard this running at a local store and it's VERY quiet even on the high speed. I was pleasantly surprised.

Okay that put me over. I was on the fence since I already had the delta AP100 but I guess I should upgrade or maybe even run two air scrubbers. It's nice to hear that it's quiet, wonder how it compares to the delta AP100.
